The Gauntlet Belongs to the SEC

Six of the toughest slates in the country for 2026 all wear the same conference patch, with Texas drawing the single hardest schedule in the sport, trailed by Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Florida rounding out the top six. That clustering means the SEC is not just deep at the top, it is brutal from the middle of the standings down, and any of those six programs can lose sight of a good season simply by the calendar it plays. Massachusetts sits at the opposite pole entirely, landing at No. 138 for the softest slate in the country, a scheduling gift that will make its win total look very different from its actual roster strength.
