What the Box Scores email gets you
Every edition is built from the games your teams played, and nothing else.
Follow any club, from the majors down through High-A. The edition leads with them: their box, their division, their next game.
Tampa Bay Rays7954.594—
New York Yankees7557.5683.5
Boston Red Sox7360.5496
Baltimore Orioles6568.48914
Toronto Blue Jays6569.48514.5Every division with games back, run differential, the splits and the streak, then the wild card race with the cut line drawn.
League leaders in ten categories, five deep: average, home runs, RBI, steals, wins, ERA, strikeouts and saves.
One club per email, or the whole league on a page. Take both and it replaces the Gameday recap, so no game arrives twice.

Frequently asked questions
When does it arrive?
In the morning, once the previous night's games are all final. West coast games finishing after midnight are in that same edition, which is the point of sending it in the morning rather than at a fixed hour.
Which leagues does it cover?
Major League Baseball has the full edition today: every box score, standings, league leaders, results, tonight's games and transactions. The NFL, College Football, the NBA and the WNBA have editions built on the same sheet, and they run when those leagues are in season.
Do I have to pick a team?
No. Follow a club and the edition leads with them; take the league edition and you get every game. You can do both, and you can change it whenever you like from your account.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Box Scores is free, there is no app to install, and every email carries a one-tap unsubscribe that works on the first press.
Can I read it without subscribing?
Yes. Last night's edition is published at /boxscores along with an archive of recent days, and every edition can be downloaded as a typeset PDF.
What is actually in a box score?
The line score, then every batter in the order they appeared and every pitcher who threw, with the decisions under them. Doubles, home runs, stolen bases, caught stealing, double plays and errors are itemised, and the foot of each box carries the umpires, the weather, the time of game and the attendance.
Do you cover the minor leagues?
Yes. Triple-A, Double-A and High-A clubs can all be followed, and a club's edition is built the same way whichever level they play at. Standings and leaders are league-wide for the level that club is in.
How is this different from the Gameday recap?
The recap is prose: what happened, who decided it, what it means for the season. Box Scores is the agate — the numbers, complete and unwritten. If you take both you can have Box Scores replace the recap, so you never get two accounts of the same game in one morning.
Can I follow more than one club?
As many as you like. Every club you follow gets its box in the same edition, each with its own division underneath, so two clubs in two divisions still arrive as one email.
What happens on a day my team did not play?
No edition is sent for that club. You are not mailed an empty sheet or a note saying there was nothing on — the email only goes when there is a box to print.
Does it work with images turned off?
Yes. Every crest has a text alternative and the sheet is set in real type rather than pictures of type, so with images blocked you still get the full box score, the standings and the leaders.
Will you sell or share my email?
No. It is used to send the box scores you asked for and nothing else. You can change what you get or stop everything in one tap from any email, and you can delete the account whenever you like.
