The Big Sky Bounce-Back
Idaho State went just 6-6 last year, but brings back 96% of its production, the kind of roster continuity that usually shows up in the win column the following fall, not the year the losses actually happen. Portland State is the more extreme case, a 1-11 finish that badly undersold a roster the model still likes, with 87% of its production back for another run. The common thread among the rest of this group, Cal Poly, Idaho, Northern Iowa and Eastern Washington, is a shared Big Sky-heavy identity of teams whose 2025 records lagged what their personnel could do, whether through returning experience or a talent base the model rates above last year's finish. Eastern Washington fits that same mold at 5-7 with 76% returning, a roster with more continuity than its record showed.
