Marcus Spears Jr., the top prospect in the class of 2027, is reclassifying and committing to the Texas Longhorns for the upcoming college basketball season. He announced his decision to ESPN on Thursday, having previously considered Arizona, LSU, and Kentucky during his recruitment.
Spears, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Dynamic Prep in Texas, averaged 20.9 points and 8.7 rebounds on the Nike EYBL circuit. His commitment boosts Texas' recruiting class to No. 4 nationally, joining other notable recruits as the Longhorns aim for a national championship under coach Sean Miller.
