USC WR Mosley out vs. Rutgers with undisclosed injury

USC Trojans

No. 12 USC will be without freshman wide receiver Trent Mosley for Saturday's game against Rutgers due to an undisclosed injury, coach Lincoln Riley announced Wednesday. Riley did not provide specific details on the injury and called the timeline for Mosley's potential return "inconclusive."

The broadcast for Friday's game between USC and Louisiana appeared to show trainers looking at Mosley's right knee after he favored it while walking to the sideline following his touchdown catch in the third quarter. "We'll just continue monitoring it," Riley said. "Don't expect it to be extremely long term, but still a little inconclusive at this time, depending on how he responds."

Mosley, a five-star prospect from Chicago, has had an immediate impact on USC's offense through three games. He leads the team with 255 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and had quickly proved himself to be quarterback Jayden Maiava's top target.

In his college debut against San Jose State, Mosley caught seven passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. He followed that performance up with another 104-yard game against Fresno State, adding two more scores. Fellow freshmen Kayden Dixon-Wyatt and Mark Bowman have two touchdowns apiece for USC.

Mosley is part of USC's 2026 recruiting class, which ranked No. 1 in the nation. The Trojans (3-0) will travel to Rutgers for their first road matchup of the season this Saturday.
