The Philadelphia Phillies are putting starting pitcher Jesús Luzardo on the injured list, manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday. Luzardo won't be eligible to return until the last game of the regular season.
The All-Star hurler was scratched from Saturday's road game against the Atlanta Braves with stiffness in his left shoulder. He underwent an MRI that showed no serious issues.
Luzardo, 28, is having a huge season, posting a 14-5 record with a 2.87 ERA. In his most recent outing, Sept. 7 against the Braves, he struck out 12 in the first shutout of his career.
