The Orioles placed right-hander Kyle Bradish on the 15-day injured list Sunday with lower abdominal discomfort, a move that effectively ends his season.
Bradish went 7-14 with a 4.12 ERA over 155 innings in 29 starts this year, his first full season following Tommy John surgery in June 2024. He last returned to the Orioles on Aug. 26 and went 1-1 with a 2.53 ERA in six starts.
Bradish started against Toronto on Saturday, his 30th birthday, and allowed five runs and eight hits over three innings in his ninth consecutive winless outing. He was 0-5 with a 5.83 ERA since beating Boston on July 22.
Bradish would not be eligible to return this year unless Baltimore rebounds to earn a playoff berth. He finished fourth in AL Cy Young Award voting in 2023, when he went 12-7 with a 2.83 ERA over 30 starts, and in July signed a $90 million, five-year contract for 2027-31.
The Orioles recalled Yaramil Hiraldo from Triple-A Norfolk, where he was 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA in 15 games.
