The Houston Texans signed former first-round pick Kenneth Murray to their practice squad Tuesday, adding depth to the linebacker room after starting linebacker Henry To'oTo'o landed on injured reserve.
Murray, a 2020 first-round pick by the Chargers, started 83 games over six seasons with the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys and Chargers, recording 497 tackles with 33 for loss. He most recently played for the Cowboys after spending the 2024 season in Tennessee.
To'oTo'o, a 2023 fifth-round pick who signed a two-year, $16 million contract extension in August, was injured with 2:34 left in Houston's season-opening loss to Buffalo when he was tackled by Bills tight end Dawson Knox.
The other options in the linebacker group to pair with Pro Bowl linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair are rookie Aiden Fisher, Jake Hansen, Jake Hummel and rookie Wade Woodaz.
The Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, then travel to Indianapolis before hosting the Cowboys in Week 4.
