Texans starting linebacker Henry To'oTo'o suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's season opener and will miss some time, coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. Ryans added that it's unclear whether the Texans will place To'oTo'o on injured reserve. "We'll see. We haven't made a decision yet, but we'll see how that goes," Ryans said.
To'oTo'o suffered the injury with 2:34 remaining in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 36-31 loss to Buffalo, when he tackled Bills tight end Dawson Knox. He needed assistance getting up before heading to the sideline and did not return to the game.
The 36 points scored by the Bills was the second-most points Houston has allowed under Ryans, behind the 37 allowed to the Buccaneers in 2023, and the first time the Texans have allowed over 30 points since their Christmas matchup against the Ravens in 2024.
To'oTo'o, a fifth-round pick by the Texans in 2023, signed a two-year, $16 million contract extension in August.
