Sources: Jessica Campbell, Bryan McCabe latest to join Devils

New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils are hiring former Seattle Kraken assistant coach Jessica Campbell as manager of player development and longtime Florida Panthers executive Bryan McCabe as vice president of prospect personnel, according to sources who spoke to ESPN.

Campbell, 34, became the first woman to serve as a full-time coach behind an NHL bench. She was promoted to Seattle in 2024 after helping the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds reach back-to-back Calder Cup Finals. After her playing career, she became a power skating and skills coach, working privately with NHL players before coaching professionally in Sweden and Germany.

McCabe, 51, will also serve as an assistant general manager for the Devils' AHL affiliate in Utica. He spent 14 years in the Panthers' front office, specializing in player development and personnel. A longtime NHL defenseman, McCabe played 1,135 games and served as Panthers captain before moving into management. He was part of Florida's back-to-back Stanley Cup championships before leaving this summer when his contract expired.

McCabe is the third former Panthers executive to join Devils GM Sunny Mehta in New Jersey. Mehta spent six seasons in Florida's front office before being named Devils GM in April. He has also hired former Panthers executive Braden Birch as assistant GM and Leo Luongo as director of goaltending.
