Michigan offensive lineman Andrew Babalola has had a setback and will not make his Wolverines debut in the immediate future, coach Kyle Whittingham said Monday.
Babalola, who came to Michigan in 2025 as the nation's No. 28 overall recruit, sustained an ACL tear last August during preseason camp and missed the entire season. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound tackle was expected to compete for time this season but had what Whittingham called a minor setback midway through camp and was ruled out for Michigan's season opener against Western Michigan.
Whittingham said Babalola "will not be available in the near future, unfortunately," adding that the latest setback will delay his return even further. Babalola was the No. 1 recruit from Kansas and No. 8 offensive tackle in the 2025 class.
Junior Blake Frazier started Michigan's first two games at left tackle after making eight starts in 2025. Michigan could get starting guard Evan Link back this week against UTEP after the senior with 19 career starts missed Saturday's win against Oklahoma with an injury.
