Nick Jonas told ESPN that Giants running back Cam Skattebo could be the next athlete to receive what the singer calls the "Jonas blessing," a term he coined in 2021 for athletes who performed well after attending a Jonas Brothers concert.
Jonas said Skattebo attended a Jonas Brothers show in Newark with friends, and that his brother Kevin Jonas later played golf with Skattebo and attended the NBA Finals with Skattebo and quarterback Jaxson Dart. "So I'm hoping that we'll get some of that for the Giants this year," Jonas said.
Jonas previously said the blessing applied to Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger, who won the World Series after attending a show, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who won the Super Bowl after attending a show in Kansas City, and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, who surpassed the all-time F1 record after attending a show.
Skattebo's 2025 season was cut short by a dislocated right ankle. Before the injury, he had rushed for 410 yards on 101 carries with five touchdowns in eight games, and added 207 receiving yards with two touchdown receptions.
Jonas, a lifelong Giants fan, said he is excited about the upcoming season, citing young talent including Jaxson Dart. The Jonas Brothers are also set to headline the halftime show for the Week 1 matchup between the 49ers and the Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
