Benjamin Sesko says he is in the 'perfect' place after recovering from a shin injury that ended his first season with Manchester United prematurely. The 23-year-old moved to the club last August from RB Leipzig in a €76.5 million deal with €8.5m in potential add-ons.
Sesko suffered the shin injury during May's 3-2 victory against Liverpool and missed this summer's friendlies. He was sidelined for 16 weeks and came off the bench in the first three Premier League games before starting Thursday's Champions League 4-0 victory against Sabah.
The striker said the injury required longer recovery than usual to prevent it from recurring. 'We just need a little bit longer, longer than usual, because if you start too early, it might appear again,' Sesko said. He attributed the original problem to a kick last season combined with overload.
Sesko feels happier in his second year at United after adjusting to a new country in his first season. 'Way better, especially than last season,' he said. 'Now for me it's like I'm really enjoying it. I'm really happy here. I love life here. I have teammates that are perfect.'
