The New York Rangers have acquired goaltender Joonas Korpisalo from the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 2028 fourth-round pick and prospect winger Kalle Vaisanen. Korpisalo, 32, brings NHL experience as a backup for star goaltender Igor Shesterkin, following the retirement of Jonathan Quick.
Last season, Korpisalo posted a record of 14-9-6 with a 3.15 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage in 28 games for the Bruins. He has two years left on his contract at $3 million per year, and the Rangers now have $12.675 million in cap space.
