The Chicago Bears and running back D'Andre Swift have agreed to a three-year, $33.75 million contract extension that includes $27.5 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Swift is now under contract through the 2029 season.
This marks Swift's second contract with Chicago. He initially signed a three-year, $24 million deal with the Bears as a free agent in 2024, one month before the Bears drafted quarterback Caleb Williams, and was set to enter a contract year in 2026.
Swift, 27, put together his best season as a pro in 2025, leading Chicago's ground attack with 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns while catching 34 passes for 299 yards and a touchdown. That topped his previous career highs during his lone season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023, for which he earned his only Pro Bowl bid.
General manager Ryan Poles praised Swift's offseason approach, saying, "I think he's done a great job. I love his approach to this offseason. He looks amazing." Swift has started 34 of 35 games over the past two seasons, including the playoffs, and finished top-12 in rushing yards last season.
Swift is the latest running back to sign a new deal this offseason, following seven others including Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson and Jonathan Taylor, whose deals were record-setting. Coach Ben Johnson said, "This is the best I've seen him this time of year... I think he's primed for a big year, though."
