The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Macklin Celebrini to a five-year contract extension worth $94 million, general manager Mike Grier announced. The deal, which begins in the 2027-28 season, carries an average annual value of $18.8 million, making Celebrini the highest-paid player in the NHL.
Celebrini, 20, set a Sharks franchise record with 115 points last season and finished with the second-most goals in team history. He has 178 points in 152 games and was a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award. Celebrini expressed excitement about the extension and his commitment to helping the Sharks win a Stanley Cup.
