The Florida Panthers have acquired goaltender Jacob Markstrom from the New Jersey Devils, allowing two-time Stanley Cup winner Sergei Bobrovsky to enter free agency. The Panthers traded forwards Evan Rodrigues, Jesper Boqvist, and Ben Steeves to the Devils for Markstrom and center Angus Crookshank.
Markstrom, 36, is starting a two-year contract with a $6 million cap hit. He had a challenging season with the Devils, posting a .883 save percentage and a 3.07 goals-against average. Bobrovsky, who completed a seven-year contract with a $10 million cap hit, is expected to explore options with teams like Toronto and Edmonton.
