Sources: Giants trading OL Josh Ezeudu to Chiefs for '28 pick

The Giants are trading offensive lineman Josh Ezeudu to the Chiefs for a 2028 seventh-round pick, sources told ESPN.

Ezeudu was a third-round pick of the Giants in the 2022 NFL draft out of North Carolina. He started 10 games at guard and tackle for New York from 2022 to 2024, and spent all of last season on injured reserve. He signed a one-year deal with the Giants this offseason and spent most of the summer at right tackle before sliding inside to guard recently.

For weeks, the Chiefs have had concerns about depth along the interior of the offensive line behind left guard Kingsley Suamataia and right guard Trey Smith. Before the trade, the lone interior backup on the roster with experience was Mike Caliendo, a three-year veteran. The Chiefs didn't select any linemen in the draft despite entering with nine selections after trading cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Rams for a package of four picks.

This is the second offensive lineman the Giants have traded in the past week, after they sent guard Daniel Faalele to the Jaguars for a 2027 sixth-round selection. Harbaugh said adding picks is a "valuable thing" and something the Giants will continue to try to do. He said the team is deep at a few positions and would like to take advantage of opportunities to add picks when they come up.
