Raheem Sterling charged with dangerous driving after crash

Raheem Sterling has been charged with dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation after a single-vehicle Lamborghini crash on the M3 motorway near Minley interchange on May 28, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said. Sterling, 31, is also charged with failing to provide a specimen. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

Sterling is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Sept. 15. The forward, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica, scored 20 goals in 82 appearances for England, including helping the side reach the 2018 World Cup semi-finals and the final of Euro 2020.

Sterling came through QPR's academy before joining Liverpool and making his senior debut there. He moved to Manchester City in 2015 and won four Premier League titles, five League Cups and the FA Cup in 2019. He left for Chelsea in 2022, spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Arsenal and then joined Feyenoord on a short-term deal until the end of the season. He is currently without a club.
