Newcastle appoint Matthias Jaissle as head coach

Newcastle United has appointed Matthias Jaissle as the new head coach, replacing Eddie Howe, who stepped down after nearly five years. Jaissle, formerly of Al Ahli and RB Salzburg, has signed a four-year contract with the club, which reportedly paid over £9 million in compensation to secure his services.

The 38-year-old coach met with players at their preseason training camp in La Manga, Spain, and will lead Newcastle into their opening Premier League match against Liverpool on August 23. Jaissle expressed excitement about the club's ambition and vision, stating he believes in the project and direction Newcastle is taking.
