Nico González is joining Newcastle United from Manchester City in a £52 million deal, sources told ESPN. Newcastle will pay £48 million upfront with £4 million in potential add-ons.
González, a Spanish midfielder, arrives after 18 months at City and 59 appearances in which he scored four goals. He joined Manchester City from Porto for £50 million in January 2025.
González becomes the fourth senior midfielder to leave City this summer after Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Tijjani Reijnders. He was an unused substitute in City's 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Sunday, when head coach Enzo Maresca fielded center back Marc Guéhi in midfield instead.
