Manchester City are in talks to sign Cody Gakpo from Liverpool. Talks between the clubs picked up steam on Saturday with Liverpool valuing Gakpo at £85 million, according to sources.
City have been given encouragement that Gakpo is interested in a move to the Etihad Stadium. Gakpo started Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Gakpo is one of several forwards City have considered, along with Everton's Iliman Ndiaye and Chelsea's Pedro Neto. City have already agreed a deal with Palmeiras for Brazilian winger Allan, while Savio and Omar Marmoush left the club to join Tottenham last week.
City are set for a busy end to the transfer window and are expected to make at least one late bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández.
