Inter Milan sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones

Inter Milan signed Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones on a five-year contract, the Italian champions announced Friday. Inter will pay an initial €30m for the 25-year-old, with the potential for a further €5m in performance-related add-ons.

Inter had attempted to sign Jones in January and had seen several offers rejected. He joins fellow England internationals John Stones and Djed Spence, who arrived at Inter from Manchester City and Tottenham, respectively, this summer.

Jones had one year remaining on his contract at Anfield. He made his debut under Jürgen Klopp in 2019 after joining Liverpool as a nine-year-old and won the FA Cup and two League Cup titles during his time there. Jones earned six caps for England.

Inter head coach Christian Chivu said Jones "gives us the chance to bring in a player with very specific qualities" and that "with signings like him, we can raise the level even further." Inter begin their Serie A campaign Saturday evening against Monza at the San Siro.
