Coby Bryant undergoes knee surgery, out 4-6 months

Chicago Bears safety Coby Bryant underwent knee surgery and is expected to miss four to six months, as announced by coach Ben Johnson on Tuesday. Bryant, who signed a three-year, $40 million contract in March, suffered a hyperextended knee along with a bone bruise and small fracture during training camp.

Initially, surgery was not anticipated when Bryant was injured during one-on-one drills in the first padded practice of training camp earlier this month. The Bears hope he can return later in the season or during the playoffs.
